Exclusively for SSAFA clients
We are extremely proud to have worked with SSAFA and SSAFA clients for many years. During that time we have installed new boilers and heating systems, carried out plumbing repairs, fitted accessible bathrooms, and much more.
We are now involved in the £4bn Eco fund, that is designed to make various energy saving measures available to people who meet the qualifying criteria, which is set described below.
The measures that are available at zero cost to qualifying applicants include:
Internal wall insulation
Ideal for older properties with no wall cavity of a very small cavity, such as homes built before the 1950’s. Internal wall insulation can often include a new gas boiler as a part of the package.
Loft insulation
If your existing insulation does not meet the current standard, extra insulation can be provided, thereby reducing heat loss and lowering your fuel bills.
Room in roof insulation
If you have an attic bedroom, for example, specialist insulation is available.
Zonal controls
The latest, most advanced controls for your existing central heating system, making it more efficient and therefore cheaper to run.
Solar PV
Solar electric panels on your roof, enabling to generate your own electricity and thereby reducing your electricity costs.
Air source heat pump
The future of home heating. Heat pump installations come with a whole system upgrade, including new radiators.
Qualifying criteria
This breaks down into 2 areas: One is financial and the other is to do with the current efficiency rating of your home. Don't worry if you're unsure about the efficiency rating of your property, we can usually help to find that information.
Financial criteria
You must be in receipt of one or more of the following:
Both homeowners and tenants qualify. The only qualifying criteria for the work to be absolutely free is that you are in receipt of at least 1 of the above benefits and your home has an efficiency (EPC) rating of E or below.
Don't worry if you are not sure about the EPC rating of your home, just fill out the form below and we can check it out for you.
Property efficiency criteria
Your home can be a semi-detached, terraced or detached property, and it doesn’t matter whether you own or rent your home. Naturally, if rented, the landlord’s permission is needed before any energy saving works can be carried out.
The only firm requirement is that the property has an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) rating of E or below. As a general rule of thumb, the older your home is, the lower the EPC rating is likely to be.
Homes with an EPC rating better than band E are not eligible to receive the 100% grant and the householder would need to make up the difference.
However, a property in band E or lower, together with one or more of the qualifying financial benefits, then the 100% grant is readily available.
As set out above, please do not worry if you are unsure about your EPC rating. Simply fill out the form below and we can check that information for you.
